Survey Cover Letter and Link to Survery
My name is Kyle Stefanovic and I am a fourth year student at Lakehead University. I am conducting research for my honors thesis under the direction of Dr. Rhonda Koster for the School of Outdoor Recreation Parks and Tourism.

The purpose of my research is to get a demographic profile of railfans as well as to understand the economic impact railfans can have on a local economy. Currently this information is not known and therefore it may be beneficial to various communities. To obtain this information I am asking you to voluntarily complete the attached survey. You may withdraw from the survey at anytime and for any reason. By completing the survey you are agreeing to participate in my research. You will remain anonymous and all information that will be gathered will be kept confidential and will be stored in a secure cabinet for 7 years as per University policy. If you would like to obtain a final copy of this study it is anticipated that the results will be available in 2008, please contact me at
[email protected] to obtain a copy.

The survey will only take approximately ten minutes to complete. I thank you for your participation in this study

Dave so that you didn’t misunderstand I filled out the questionaire before the question was asked. I’m just curious enough to think maybe it’s a relative Ric is proud and want to send some koodo’s

My reply was intended as a positive about Ric’s contribution to this forum, not as a negative about your post. There’s little common ground between Ric and myself in some of the off-topic threads, but so what? His RR is brilliant!

This person has been also promoted by several railfan groups based on Canadian railroads. His request has appeared through the good meaning persons at the CNR, CPR, and Canadian Passenger Rail, Yahoo groups.
Kyle is a student at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay Ontario, I believe. (Some call it “Blunder Bay”, and other natives have issues with the name “Thunder Bay”. It used to be two cities, and was amalgomated under the name Thunder Bay. Most all the natives wanted the name “The Lakehead” but the vote was split, and it ended up Thunder Bay. The two cities were Port Aurther and Fort William)
The request can be considered legitimate…
