Rail Trip From York Part II

Before heading home we made one more stop and inspection run on the Jackson and Burke outside our Nation’s Capitol. We came onto the line at Jackson Junction.

We got our orders and were almost ready to roll.

Once again, we had to take a siding as the Visiting Official brought her personal train and engine onto the tracks for a courtesy inspection run. Telling Jan she has the highest right of way has proved to be a big mistake.

We eventually got loaded back into the van down the track from the Yard Office and really started the trip home.

Thanks for watching. I know other people’s vacation slides can get boring.

I love it. Part 1 & 2.

Ill second that. Thanks for sharing, I always enjoying seeing others layouts. I like that rail car fully loaded as well as the story of your trek. You can make a whole story line that never has an ending out of all your visits.

Too bad my house was not on the way. Would have loved to have pictures of that rail car on my layout. Maybe someday.

Yep , the second esipode is as good as the first .

Agreed!

Funny, I’m certain that there are roads that lead from Burke to Carlyle that go right by here…could have been Part III!

Bart,

There are roads, but with the load we had, we needed paved ones. I don’t know if we could have made another stop, I think we pushed the having fun about as far as we could. Spoke to Andy and Jane last night and they are the same as us, still trying to catch up. There are future trips and future roads.

Good thing you weren’t at Jackson and Burke during the acorn season. Gigantic half ton acorns falling–Oh the humanity!
