After getting really hacked off trying to find ANOTHER little battery for the Sierra Soundtraxx system in my AccuCraft K27, I took the plunj and got fellow G1 maven, Peter Spoerer, to convert it to r/c and install a more amenable sound system in it, using the existing HUGE speaker already installed.
The r/c system has a switchable bell and whistle, has inertia start and stop, adjustable chuff sync to get the four beats per revolution, and is VERY user friendly - ideal when dealing with my level of klutzheit.
Here is is on Pete’s White Horse line track in far-off Narfolk…

Pete was frankly astonished at the sheer quality of this powerful loco, and made very positive comments about the level of workmanship employed. Although an early model - bought way back in 2002 - I’m still smarting from the hit in the pocket book. Recently I had to effect a re-paint to the cab-roof and side, and our own Stan Cedarleaf provided EXACT replications of the cabside numbers. I’ll send a Terry’s chocolate orange to the first person to pick out which side it was.
To Pete over in Narfolk, many thanks.
We go to get it next week, but I’ll take a few cars with me so that we can make another movie with a proper consist behind it - the starting chuffs get heavy, and die back as the loco coasts or the throttle is reduced - how clever is THAT?
tac, really chuffed…
