R/C price comparisons that may surprise you

For pacakage deals with sound RCS wins hands down.

That’s good to know, although price had very little to do with my decision to go with RCS. Convenience and reliability were my main considerations…

I love RCS’s tiny remote, though I don’t have one.

Tony,
It is with great trepidation that I write this reply. I am trying to avoid a pissing match like we had last year.
RCS is a great product. Far better than the Crest Train engineer stuff.
Airwire is available from numerous venders, allowing for competition. I paid about the same for mine as your Elite 6.
RCS is exclusive to 2 venders in the US, which allows them to charge MSRP. A few venders have your accessories.
Why this exclusiveness, is none of my business.
Dave and Don cannot get into competition because it wouldn’t be ethical or moral.
Maybe I don’t know what I’m talking about. Probably so.
But competition dictates pricing.

No problem here John.

The fact remains that notwithstanding Ken’s reasons for purchasing RCS, the RCS pricing structure is a lot less expensive than the opposition.

If you can purchase an AirWire TX and RX combo for less than US$230 I am sure the readers here will be delighted to hear about it.

When it comes to a sound and R/C control system package the RCS pricing structure is again the lowest pricing of the proprietary systems.

I can’t speak for Tony or Dave or Don,much like Ken the reason I chose RCS and continue to utilize the brand is (convenience and reliability) Service before, during and after the sale…I’m not really sure how much one could save if there was a price battle, but I’ve been content to pay what is asked…and as shown above, the pricing continues to be competitive with like units. As I learned early on, and I’m sure most know, this is not a cheap hobby…I look to make my savings with used stock and track, and my investment in the Loco and Control. Personally I am a Big fan of the limited dealer network of the product…it keeps everyone on the same page and the interest of the consumer at the top of the list. I’ve never had an issue with reaching someone with a service or install question…even Down Under!

Whilst I have been in sales many many years and have seen almost everything in my 60 years. A wise man once told me that “You should never piss in the stream, as someday you might be or have to drink out of it!!!” This would be the wise word for the day. Hee hee LOL The Regal

You are correct.
There is a huge asset to be able to deal with your vender after the sale. I hadn’t thought of that aspect.
AW is sold by a few venders who prolly haven’t a clue, and sold by some such as Jonothan out of California who are experts in their field.

Is this an advertisement?..Ahhh never mind …I run track power

Yes and don’t worry about it.

LOL…
Actually Don Sweet is very local to me …should meet him someday.

That you should.

Don started out with track power in the early 90’s. He soon saw the light and has been battery R/C ever since.

I see the light.
Unfortunately my economy keeps me in the dark :o

Good luck dealing with customers.
