Well, I toddled in to a local purveyor of mind-distracting substances (large scale train supplies … what were you thinking) to confirm the dates of the March show he’s been putting on just down the road for a number of years, only to discover that he’s given up on the event … college wants too much more rent for its gym. (He was just about to mail out the announcement when I dropped in.)
So that’s two fewer occasions for me to haul out the Thomas layout (he also had a September show).
It’s sad, but what can you do? There are other shows, but SW doesn’t want me hauling the trailer any distance on winter roads, and grandchild care sharply limits our freedom to go out of town at any season.
And my wife and daughter had just spent quite a bit of time and dosh putting together an Easter theme (non-religious) for the kids … ain’t that always the way?
I definitely have to purge the mess in the basement and set up the layout (or part of it) there, or it won’t get any running at all.
