My piggy bank finally holds enough $ to buy the DCC system I’ve been dreaming of, and there is a big train show next weekend near me in Springfield, MA.
I read all the books, figured out what I want to do, and even though I’ll have to deal with polarity issues on my Wye and those gall dang Aristo #6 frogs, I’m still leaning in favor of DCC because of the extra level of control for things like multiple lighting effects and numerous sounds.
But the wiring of the Wye, Reverse Loops and powered frogs still nags at me. I have one battery trail car and 4 battery ready Aristo locos so I fully understand the convenience of battery.
How do I accept the cons of battery over the pros of DCC I so desperately think I need?
What can I expect $400 to buy me in the way of battery systems?
Am I nuts ? OK, I can answer that one myself.
