I was more looking at the square slot cut, knowing it was always going to be clamping on a ( wadda ya call it) triangle section??. Those two sharp corners are concentrating all the load. Efficient for manufacture tho so I do get it.

John, I received my rail clamps, and they look great. Identical to my Train Li clamps, which are also made in Germany (I’m thinking from the same source), but a bit more costly. Thanks again for the tip!
Of course, Cliff! I got mine, too. I haven’t done anything with them yet though. Testing is upcoming…
