Question about Trackman 2000 track cleaner

If you have one, please look at it and answer the question below.

Two screws with a knurled top pass through white plastic disks and connect to the weighted cleaning pad. By screwing the screws one way or another, you can raise or lower the pad onto the track.

Now here’s the question: do the tops of the screws on your Trackman 2000 fit flush with the top of the white disks? or do they protrude above the white disk by the thickness of the screw top?

Here is a little story / write up I did a while ago. There is pictures of both vintage trackman 2000’s there. Hope it helps. Not 100% sure what you are asking…

Many thanks for the history Kyle and especially for the picture of the Trackman 2000. My problem is that one of the screws on my trackman is flush with the plastic disk, the other sticks up, and the picture shows me that it shouldn’t. So now I know how to fix and properly adjust it. Thanks for your quick response.

Incidentally I see that mine was sent to me from Temple, PA, so I got mine from Henry himself.

Kyle,

Digging about for the patent, I discovered this site still listing the Trackman 2000 in G Scale.

Adding the item to the cart and going to check out indicates it is available. Update for those interested, other scales are also listed.

I emailed them earlier today to see if it is really available… will report back

Hi Art
The tops of both screws are flush with the white disks on mine.
Mine appears to have pins going through the sides of the white plastic disks pining the heads of the screws in place.

Bob, Michael, and Kyle,

I fixed my Trackman 2000, thanks to the picture Kyle provided. This forum is great! And for all of the rest of you, the Trackman 2000 works great for cleaning track. In fact, when the guys at the Pomona Fairplex want to clean their track in their huge G layout, they merely link four or five Trackman 2000s together and run them around the layout a couple times. Now right here I ought to provide a picture but I don’t have one. Maybe someone from the Pomona group has one to share.

Great working car!
I have two in g-scale and one in o-scale and ho!
I usually run an engine then the Trackman 2000 then Aristo’s track cleaning caboose!

I got a reply back, a one liner: “out of stock”.

So much for an online ordering system that reflects stock on hand.
