I’m looking to purchase some of these. I notice that they have two bumpers as opposed to LGB’s one center bumper. I thought I read somewhere that they come with a conversion part that allows you to remove the dual bumpers and install the single bumper. Is this correct or am I mistaken?
They are supposedly Euro Standard Gauge which has two buffers each end.
The one buffer version is listed in the spare parts list, it also requires a different buffer beam also listed under spare parts.
Is the Taurus the same thing. I did some further checking and although I can’t find it, I think it was a ad somewhere that said it came with an additional center bumper for LGB compatability. Just want to make sure that hasn’t changed.
To be sure you best check with PIKO America http://www.piko-america.com/
PS The review of the 194 (E94) engine in GR states “additional end beams with center buffers supplied”. The same applies for the “Taurus”.
In a write-up on a German G blog http://www.spur-g-blog.de/?paged=69 it mentions the same for the long passenger coaches.
Hans,
I’m going out on a limb and going to assume they will be there when I open the Taurus box. As for the passenger cars, that is great news! I am planning on getting a couple of those to use for my passenger train.
Phil,
They will be there for the Taurus. I’d almost go out on limb and say whichever items they are listed as a spare part they will be included as the delivery standard.
