QSI Solutions Quantum Aristo/Magnum

I understand that the Quantum Aristo is PnP in the newer Aristos, the ones with the Aristo “supersocket.” :stuck_out_tongue: I suppose that each loco needs it’s own “G-Wire” card when run in R/C with the AirWire.

How is the response time? Can you actually make the whistle/horn sound in real time? Or is there a lag. One of the things I’d like to be able to do is use the whistle to “talk” to the helper, like they did before radios were introduced.

Does the G-wire card slow things down?

I’m finding it’s unpredictable. Sometimes it seems instantaneous, sometimes there’s a bit of a lag, sometimes I press the button and nothing happens. Most of the time it works with maybe a really slight delay–very slight, just a fraction of a second.

Why is that? I’m guessing maybe cell phone interference?

Yes, you need a G wire card for each QSI card. Installation is PNP with aristo locos, although you still have to wire up the speaker

I know that the AirWire receiver and a P-5 have no delay at all.

Delays would be from poor signal reception. Most people report good response.

Cell phones do not work on 900 MHz (any more)… more likely cordless phones…

Check your antenna, try repositioning it… what loco is it in Mike?
