Large Scale Central

Putting things in Perspective

Trippy!

Victor

If our sum is small dot on this large sun, what does that make us? This truly up a different perspective on life.

“If our sun is small dot on this large sun, what does that make us?”

We are like the Whos in Whoville, living on a small dust speck, as in the Dr. Seuss book “Horton Hears a Who.”

Hope some buzzard does not decide to fly off with us.

David Meashey

Makes one feel pretty insignificant, doesn’t it.

Yes!

Victor, very interesting but where do our railroads fit in this??

Paul

Depends on what scale, Paul.

“but where do our railroads fit in this??”

I suppose that comparing T scale to 1:1 is not that big of a deal? (It’s the best answer I could come up with under those circumstances.) Actually 1:1 trains are subT scale compared to that star. (But the Borg won’t care anyway.) ;>)

Best,
David Meashey

It’s a great thing to watch when our egos get the best of us!

And then there’s Vic’s layout…

Back when I was 12 or 13 my theory was that all this is a continuum i.e. we can’t see down past the atomic level even though those are parts of a solar system and we can’t see out far enough because there are many many more solar systems out there. And the interesting point will be where the very, very small meets the very, very large and which fits into what and how or will it be turned inside out.

Oh BTW, one day the teacher asked “what do apples consist off?” (logical question since at that time we lived in a hick town with plenty of “rural influence”). After a few interesting guesses I dared mention “atoms”; you should have heard the howl of laughter. Well that really hurt my feelings and I have been very quiet and withdrawn ever since. :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:

@Dave M

“Hope some buzzard does not decide to fly off with us.”

We would never notice, we’re too busy running trains!

All that tells me is that just as we are all unique, so are our trains.

Enjoy the uniqueness - in all that immeasurable immensity, there is only ONE track like yours.

I always wondered, “Why did He make it so big?”

I’ve come to realize, it’s because He is so big.

It says he measures the distances between stars by the span of his hand.

My concern is that this is all HJ’s 8th grade science project. :stuck_out_tongue:

In that case we'd be in very big trouble .... hmmmm I think we are already. :D :D

Just can’t resist

Given the Rooster’s attraction to very big bangs, I think I definitely “fear the Rooster”.
Coq au vin, anyone, before he sends us all to the Restaurant at the End of the Universe?

David does this refer to the BIG BANG theory LOL.

That's funny. My High School Theory was that the entire universe as we know it was contained inside a bell jar on some scientists desk.
