Purrfect place for this

Hi all, Before someone starts a bunch of unsubstantiated rumours (is there another kind??  ) I have a confession to make: Yes, we now have our very own “in-house consultant”!

His name is Machiavelli, a name that was bestowed on him by the previous “owner” (you don’t own a cat, he/she just accepts you as the “provider of better food”) and he does the name honour. In short: the purrfect consultant; he gives good advise and is reasonably easy to understand. For those who are “a bit slower” on the up-take (like the younger of the Huskies) he has an improved teaching method; it calls for a slightly elevated perch to have proper reach for the “too curious” Husky nose. Soooooooo if I refer to the “in-house consultant” I’m referring to “Machiavelli”; the cat who taught the Husky how close is too close.

Dontcha just love pussies?
Cats that is.

Our current “resident sultan” is Inigo, as in “Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die.” He took over at the age of 8 weeks when he had been on the property for less than a minute. It was amazing to watch.

Tony,

Actually in our house Elisabeth is the person who really likes the cats, I’m more partial to dogs. Of course Huskies have a “feline” reputation; they hear well, but have their own minds. “Come” is usually properly considered, wouldn’t want to rush things.

One of the “good” bumper stickers from many years ago is: “The more I learn about people, the better I like my cat.”

Speaking of bumper stickers my all time favourite is:

“Insanity is hereditary - You get it from your kids”

in 2nd place:

“Pray for me - My husband plays with trains”

A bumper “snicker” I like is: “Retired - And spending my kid’s inheritance.”

HJ, I love the expression on the cat’s face…must have been just after the husky episode.
“Yup, I just taught him a thing or two!”
