Hi Bob.McC. Ralph and myself is having problems on I guess our setting or something on showing video when posting…

I used the youtube in brackets
then the short link from youtube
then the /youtube in brackets
I am using windows 8 and this is from firefox
here is the exact same procedure in IE 10

when I pasted the link copied from youtube, it immediately pasted as a link in the posting window.
Below I typed the link in by hand. This formatting the paste buffer as a link must be a new feature in IE10… if we had the full editor we could “break” the link after pasting it.

You can break the link by hitting your “backspace” key while your cursor is at the end of the link.

Yep, I’m actually aware of that, and Noel has been given that advice already from a friend.
I think he has some more fundamental issues…
I’m not a huge “drag and drop” fan, been control C and control V for a VERY long time… I think WordStar was my first word processor…

The backspace trick must be browser related because it doesn’t work for me. on XP / FF 19.

WordStar on CP/M ? Yeah, I remember that.
The buildings that housed KayPro are still visible from highway 5 down here, still painted that blue color.
My point in posting is that using the bracketed commands and the short share url works fine.
If you see that pasting the url creates an underlined link immediately, edit it (backspace indeed works fine) until the link underlining/bolding goes away.
This really is not that complex, just take care to not misspell youtube or leave extra spaces around.

IE works, I showed you above, I wrote it out… stop with the drag and drop already please!
IE10 just makes a “live link” when post the share url… you are making this harder on yourself because you want this drag and drop stuff… trust me, just do what I said in the previous post.
By the way, what you hear on the video is only half as good as it sounds in person… I’m going to buy a good stereo mike (and probably use a better camera)

Every link you pasted is a “live link”… I guess that is not getting through, sorry!
IE seems to paste a live link… ok, that is how life is…
http://youtu.be/fRbHUQfewdw so you will have to find a way to copy and paste it as text…
ok I pasted and hit backspace, that turned off the underlining but it came right back
looks like you will have to paste from IE into something else that does not understand links, like a text file, and copy PART of it…
copy from THERE without the http:// … and paste:
youtu.be/5sQ3MCA18oM
now put the youtube stuff around it and put the http:// back in…

What a pain!
Use Firefox!
