The Bath House head quarters, the bath house will be in structure next to it
High time this thread was brought up again!
Dennis, you have any final shots of your latest buildings?
I’d love to use this technique! But I have a few questions.
- Can you reliably adhere anything to this material, such as laserable acrylic trim pieces?
- Can you laminate two or three PB sheets for more depth? If so, what adhesive works?
- Assuming you’ve installed a building or two, how are your painted surfaces holding up?
- Have you adhered any detail parts? If so, what materials and adhesives do you recommend?
Thanks Dennis, I always admire your often ground-breaking work.

Cliff thanks for your questions and comments
I use titebond 3 to glue PB to PB
I use with much success Lexel Glue and Epoxie to glue other things to PB.
I use a lot of headless pins when glueing things to PB
I have used Redwood glued and pinned to PB
PB will not fail outside, it holds paint very well, and works great with any type of house paint and outside house stains
it is made for outside signage
I have made some more progress on the hotel and also making a medium size station, I am tied for the worlds worst at starting 8 or 10
things at the same time

Here is the front wall of the bath house, it is all one piece, lasered in different layers to get the different layered doors.
The bath house produces lots of HUMIDITY so i 3D printed vented louvers.

Here is more on the Bath house, The fuel tank may or may not be part of it.
The top will have a water tank on the top of the flat roof
Thanks Dennis! That all sounds great.
If you were to, say, laser out a bunch of colored 1/8" thick door jambs and outer window frames, and glue them to the PB, what material would you use? “ADA” colored acrylic from Johnson? Regular colored acrylic? And which glue would you say would last the best for that?
I promised my wife I’d start building Virginia City next spring, and I intend to do so in a series of dimensional flats, arranged in rows. At least that’s the thought; I haven’t started the design work yet. But I’m traying to nail down the basic approach, which really seems like PB to me – especially after seeing your work.
Thanks again,
Cliff
I was typing while you were posting those pics. Wow! Your details look so great!!

Cliff…Either Lexel or Epoxie,I would make the entire window first then glue on or in the opening
Dennis
Dennis: It all looks spectacular. Nice job!
Cliff: Thanks for poking the bear and waking Dennis up to show us his progress!
Thanks Jim and Cliff
Wow. Zers.
Thanks Dennis…
Gotta find my jaw, it dropped off and is under the desk somewhere…
Cliff
I use Gorrilla super glue to glue yes the ADA solid color acrylic together and then the Lexel to the or in the opening.
Dennis
Dennis, about the PB, do you use PBHT or PBLT? And what density?
Cliff
I have been using 15 lb, I think my next batch will be 18 lb

That’s great, Dennis, and I’ll check out the blog.
I’ve got a local plastics supplier who carries the PB, so I’ll get a quote from them.
Thanks again,
Cliff
Cliff
I do 6 pieces 24" x 60" that can be shipped via UPS if your supplier does not stock your needed size.
Dennis
Thanks Dennis! I’ll check with my dealer tomorrow.
