Power outage on the CR&TC RY Co

Steve,

Didn’t catch this thread earlier. Family stuff got in the way. Glad your “event” was survivable. In my mind, Leavenworth is always a nasty place, anyway.

TOC went from windstorms to an internet and phone blackout today, his gardeners cut the fiber to his house… just not a fun time in Washington state I guess. He did have a generator for the power outage (no surprise).

Well, I hope the gardeners are going to pay to have it fixed.

Dave is used to this stuff. He’s on the old crank telephone, talking to his layers as we type…!!!

Layers? Oh, you mean lawyers, or solicitors, if yous furm acrost the pond.

Gardeners??? I thought we as Outdoor model railroaders would do any gardening as required. Sounds a bit spendy to me.

Randy, TOC is, by his own definition, old, and a curmudgeon. Maybe when we get old and…we would rather pay for someone else to upkeep the yard and gardens while we play with our toys. Sorry. While we run our model trains.

TOC has a VERY tall hedge on his property, I think 14 or 16 foot, that gets trimmed once a year. They cut the fiber from the pole once before.

This time he lined all 3 of them up and told them to not do it again. They were doing well, until the ladder started to slip (1 guy working 2 guys exploring their posterior anatomy)… The guy starts to fall, the chain saw whips upright, slices the fiber.

I think it’s ok to shoot people in WA if they do this.

Gee, sounds like the crews I see around here. I guess crews are crews no matter where you are.
