Is there a new way or requirement to post pics??
Nope, just tried it out myself. Just cut and paste the URL in the “Reply” window and the pic shows up.

Click on “Direct Link”, it should turn yellow and say “copied”, them just “paste” into the Reply window. l

So it did change!!
No it didn’t really, but the old forum software was tollerent of the extra IMG code and basically just displayed it as text.
Actually Sean, it did change, and significantly too. One of the things I liked about the site was ‘dead simple’ pic posting…Not so anymore. I’ll have to work on it.

I’m curious, Mark. It seems to ME that the dead simple pic posting is still here. I paste in the URL of a photo stored on the web and it displays. No tags needed. And if the URL isn’t a picture, it’s converted to a link. Just the way it used to work.
So, what changed?

Yea, I’m curious, too.
In the past I used Photobucket. I opened the image in photo-bucket and copied the “img” tag as suggested by PB. I then simply pasted it in the reply and done. Now if I do the same thing I get the dreaded “red X”. I have tried direct http links and they come in HUGE. So I need to figure out how to get a working link and re-size for the new forum. I’ll get there, just a bit more than I can work on right now.
Mark - Can you give us a link to your Photobucket album so we can experiment?

Apparently it’s the “img” tags causing the trouble…That and the pic’s are way too big. Will need to find an easy way to re-size them.
Try using the “Direct Link”. That’s the only one I’ve ever used.
Your pictures aren’t any bigger then mine. A lot of mine are 1000 X 750. Some are 800 X 600.
Yep, direct link seems very easy. Clicking on the direct link field copies the link to the clipboard, come over here and paste it.

Yes, the Direct Link is the one to use, but somepictures are 1024x768. LSC will crop those to 800x768. So yes, resizing them to 800xwhatever would be needed to display them properly as I don’t see a way on Photobucket to get a link to smaller images.
Jon, yep…going to have to ‘re-save’ the pics in a smaller size. Certainly not the end of the world but as I said earlier…not as ‘dead simple’ as before. In the grand scheme of things it’s not the end of the world. I will start a new ‘album’ on PB for LSC, seems the 3 forums I post in all require a different method for posting pics.
