This is not a new problem - just thought I’d bring it up again now that summer is over and you might have some time to look into it.
If you use a Number Sign (#) or an Ampersand (&) in a post the Preview will only show the text up to the offending character. If you remove the character the post will preview properly.
I usually work around it by using No. or And so it’s little more than an annoyance, but it would be nice if Preview worked with (and for) all characters.

Using Firefox as well. When I preview your post it’s just fine. Odd.
I am at Work now, on a different PC. Lets see, # dad gum & dang it all. Works just fine on this PC. FF 23.0.1 on XP.

At home FF 24.0 and Preview with the # and & work in a quoted reply.
But will # and / or & cause the editor to barf on a fresh post? Not today.

I have discovered that this problem can be duplicated in a new thread, but not in a reply on an existing thread.
OK, I just ran into this last night posting the pictures of Shay number nine in the general forum.
I wrote it out as “recently acquired Shay #9” and of course the preview stopped at the pound sign so I
rewrote it using the word “number” and tried to preview but was told that I had committed an illegal
act and couldn’t post. Pretty strange, so I just posted with out using preview and hoped for the best.
OK, just previewed this post and it worked fine just as Jon said in his post.
Really cool glitch, like my old Studebaker truck that wouldn’t go into reverse with the overdrive engaged.
So the work around would be to post very little in the original post, then go back and add the rest using Edit and preview will be fine. Or - Do what you did Rick - just post blind and edit if needed.
This one should be fixed. Was interesting to track down, but I think I got it.
