Post #1000

Bart;
Your faithfull Branch Railroadian, lowly Friar, and holy water taster; has tasted that Sam Adams Octoberfest variety.
I can say for certain that it will meet your taste buds with a good kiss of pleasure and refreshment.
I had the pleasure to enjoy several true pints of it, in Syracuse, last weekend, at a good restraunt named “The Retreat”, where it was on draft.

I hasten to suggest, that all talk of Labatt’s Blue (Or any of their stuff), is not worthy of testing, in spite of it being supposedly Canadian, and I being one.
Labatts, and Molson products are just run-of-the-mill commercial swill, liked by some, but not worth bothering with if other products of better taste are available.

Everyone’s taste is different, though; and if you find those appealing; ENJOY.

We’ve got a local brewery a couple towns over that has a fantastic nut brown ale. yum!

I’m usually not a fan of light beers either (but I couldnt find another beer I drank that started with L so my 1st post wouldnt have made much sense now would it!) :smiley:

Actually I would rather have a Pilsner Urquel or a Spaten Octoberfest lager for a light beer

Otherwise its Guinness or Murphys stout, Anchor Steam Porter, or my all time favorite Youngs Chocolate Stout. Though I do have a soft spot for Youngs “Old Nick” barleywine ale.

Vic, for the “L” there is always Li’l Oly. Nectar of the Gods!

Unfortunately, no longer brewed in Tumwater. :frowning:

Hans, my fine feathered Western Canadian Friend;

The so called “Ottawa group”, is a great bunch of people who all have different approaches to “Our hobby”.

We all learn, research, share, and have fun together. We respect our different approaches to all parts of the hobby.
Our web page, is an example of our diversification, and our willingness to share ideas and friendship.

Paul Norton (The old fart !!!) is the main person who administers our web page, and seems to respond to the needs and wishes of our “Informal Society”, with the “Just right” approach, which keeps us current; informative, and approachable.

We have been called, at times; “Ahead of the time” in our R/C approach to model railroading out of doors.
We have many experiences under our belts, and have successes and failures to prove or disprove different ways of approaching the challenges of co-existing out in Mother Natures sand box.
Some listen to us; others go off and re-invent the wheel…some people will never have any engineering skills, and will have troubles we never dreamed of; but we all want to share, in the hopes that we can all learn, and develop frienships beyond just our associations with Model Railroading.

I look forward to meeting our Western Canadian associates…

Just so long as Hans-J leaves his dancing bears at home ...

I understand he’s contemplating introducing his pet moose instead. :smiley:

I don't know, if I could get the neighbour's permission ....... it would make for a conversation starter.

That'd be Mister Bullwinkle to you, sir.

Probably not Mr. Bullwinkle…he lives down here. I know…we had a heart to heart talk one morning…about 3am. He politely reminded me that not only was he bigger than me…he was bigger than the car I was driving…:frowning: We then proceeded down the road, Mr. Bullwinkle in the lead…at HIS pace.

…hurry up and post some more, Barty…we are all catching up to you…!!!

Not that I'm trying to run up my post count, just to stay ahead. I would never do anything like that. :P

Gee Steve…they got therapy for that…

But I have to say…I operate on the system of Quality vs. Quantity…ThereforeI can’t count one of my posts, it shames me to say…I made one reply in an LGB thread…ohh the shame…
