Possible negotiation snags betwen IPP&WRR and the KVRwy

With that much chili, bheer and farting I pity those that have a long ride home afterwards. Kind of hard to sit on 2nd degree burns…:stuck_out_tongue:

You can only complain if you participate in the Invasion! It’s starting to sound good

Damn, the more this goes on, the more I feel like going in the kitchen and cooking a pot of chili. We’ve got the cold, damp weather that goes with it.

So…given the Chili and Beer thing…just who is planning on attending the Invasion next year?

It’s not too early to start saving your pennies. It would be great to see some new faces. Any you old ones can come too…

Not likely I’ll be there. It’s just a stretch too far. I have a hard enough time getting to Marty’s Thingy.

Warren,

One of these years we’ll have a Western version of the “Invasion”, mind you I’ll make sure that everyone gets disarmed at the Border. :stuck_out_tongue:

That will mean no beans for me. That chili that Fr. Fred is cooking up would cause me to be classified as a weapon of mass destruction.

Ahh, but you haven't tasted my chili. Could get you arrested if the cops pull you over "Emitting extremely toxic fumes while operating a vehicle." :) ;) And this before you get back to the border.

Start gittin yer passport now.
Itt’l take a year or so to get it.

I guess I should apologize to Ric for “hijacking” the thread.

If you EVER thought about going to the Invasion, 2008 is as good as time as any. Yes, it’s a long trip for lots of folks. BUT, you’ll be able to operate several trains and meet a great group of folks.

You don’t need to bring any equipment (but you can)! Be prepared for some interesting conversations and neat operations.

I really want to come again, but we must cut back on some of our annual treks. Between York, the Invasion and EBT it kills all of my vacation time and budget :frowning: Time will tell.

Difficult decisions, but I think York will be the first to be cut.

JR

Funny about the title of this thread…Ric and I meet for high level executive meetings, every so often, and never, never have "Snags " in our agreements…Jan just wouldn’t stand for it.

I’m wondering if young Ric got into some untasted holy water before he started this thread

The latest idea of going for a pair of those new store rented out houses, even with fancy names for as grand an “Experience” as we have up here; would not be at all up to the high standards we have alway maintained.

Ric knows that “IF” we have to go for that “Outdoor experience” to the full extent of “Outdoor Experiences”, we would only “Build” a proper 4 holer of the highest of standards. It would have plush seats and Japanese style dividers, between seats. The paper for reading, would only be up to fine Playboy or Garden Railroad standards…for the ladies, we would of course have picture books of their liking.
The other paper would only be of the softest of textures, and extra large rolls would be standard.
A bidet would be in a corner for descrete clean ups when needed; and hand washing would be available with warm scented water of the highest quality. Soap would be imported from the finest of soap suppliers in Rome.

None of this “Moulded in Texas” style “Porta Potties”, on this Canadian site of Canadian/ American Friendship…

Now…back to the meal menues, ideas for Gas experiments and Chilie awards…

I certainly didn’t mean the IPP&WRR should go for the “clorox bottle style” facility, but I was thinking of some nice blinds for the windows of the “Dispatcher’s Office”. I do think that space could be utilized for more than just the couple of hours of the “OPs Session”. Would it be possible for Paul to draw up some plans to get some plumbing and electricity out there? There is going to have to be better insulation. For right now, just preliminary thoughts. There is really going to have to be a ventilation system, also, or Peter will complain.

I’m in for 2008, but I may not be able to go. My Scout troop got a slot for 2008 at Philmont Scout Ranch, and I may not have enough vacation time to swing both of them next year. Time will tell!

I’d like to add my voice to the “more ops sessions” crowd. Although the camaraderie and food is a big draw, operating with 6-8 other trains on the line is the big Invasion draw for me.

Philmont! Sweet. My Venture group went there in 1997, but I couldn't go because I had just accepted a new job up here in Washington St. My son and daughter both got to go and they loved it!

I'd vote for more operating sessions, too. I thought that was the big thing.

The one thing that disappointed me about Marty’s this year was that we didn’t have an ops session. Seems the roundy-rounds out voted us…:frowning:

Now Warren, we must be correct. I was told I was wrong for calling it “Slot car racing”. The official term is “Orbiting”. Let’s try to be correct, if we can.

Actually, it wasn’t bad. I ran opposite the normal flow and kept ducking into sidings to stay out of the way. Then JJ would derail and I had quite a bit of the track to myself as everyone was in line behind him. It was kind of a “U P Syndrome”.

You must adapt.

Any time JJ has a remote in his hands one must adapt…:stuck_out_tongue:

But then again it might help if we put a shorter leash on Stan too…
