What do you all recommend for portable benchwork?? (legs, table, etc.)
I’m trying to figure out how to support my 2x8 layout, but in a way that will make it easily transportable.

Half sheet of plywood and a pair of folding saw horses from Harbor Freight Tool (they have a coupon every so often).
A plain hollow core door cheap and light at home improvement stores. Or a folding portable table all in one.
Here is my first timesaver on 2 sawhorses on a 7 foot door.

Joe, there’s a thread on postable layouts, where Greg is adamant that folding beer pong tables are the way to go. They are even 2x8. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-surprised.gif)Let’s see if I can find it.

Nope. Try this: http://www.largescalecentral.com/forums/topic/29733/portable-switching-puzzle-john-allen-quot-time-saver-quot

Actually you can find them anywhere once you learn that these are called “beer pong table”… very light weight, not super strong, but when it’s 1/2 the weight of a normal table and folds much smaller, it is ideal in these circumstances…
Today’s Sunday paper inserts had a Harbor Freight coupon for folding saw horses $8.99.
I use metal sawhorses that have folding legs, they are very sturdy. I have a 1x attached to the top so there is something to screw the layout itself into so it doesn’t move about.
