For my money, if you are considering 1:32, you would do better to go with 1:48. There are more choices.

I’ve seriously have considered moving from 1:29 to 1:48… But I keep coming back to 1:29 because 1:48 has similar problems, just different! Plenty of 1:43 scale vehicles, but 1:48 and 0 gauge track is 5’, so you either scale to 1:43 for the trains, or build P:48 track… Dang sounds really similar to 1:29. I keep wondering if P:48 is even feasible outside… Or for that matter P:29! (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-surprised.gif)

…one day, a whole raft of ore cars will float up to the North American shore. At this point, the only question that speculators can guess at; is what labels will be plastered over the lettering on those yellow cartons.

As Dave Goodson is so famous for saying…move along; there is nothing to see here…yet…!!

I think the backer Scott had paid just to get what ever track was already made and then the rest dried up. I may be wrong but I think it may all be over but the shouting. Later RJD

R.J., Scott was talking about starting production on dash 9s and rolling stock. Of course talk is cheap, and its results that count.

We could argue 1:32 or 1:29, and that has been argued. I do not know where that will end up. But even with the wrong scale, USA, AML and even Bachmann are playing in that scale, so there is a market.

The drives would need to be redesigned for the old Aristo line, but most everything else is done. I think, in the end, it will probably come down to whoever throws enough cash at the owner of the molds (Kader or whoever) will bring the line back.

I hope Scott can do it, if he really wants to. But I still have to wonder if his trying to bring the Aristo line back was a sound business decision on his part, or just an emotional decision. Only time will tell I guess. But at least he gave it a shot.

When I was talking to the folks from AML @ York they said that they were trying to make their motor block for the GP60 compatible as a aristocraft replacement

if they ever get it done

Mark, that would be great! If they could make it as a replacement for the multitude of Aristo units that are out there. My stash of Aristo parts is slowly dwindling.

Me too, I’m down to only about 10 motor blocks of each type.

Greg

Only 10? WOW!

Yep, getting nervous… (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

I was nervous when I got to my stash of 15.(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cry.gif) Yep talk is cheap but when he only spent 4 hrs at York and did not answer questions makes one wonder. When one dodges questions what are you going to think? Later RJD

He’s a Polk…

Posed a few questions on farcebook, and Scott answered me back, they are taking a look at the web site, it has a few broken parts, but they are working on it.

Greg

Seems like things are broken all the time. Later RJD

All I wanted was a motor block for an Eggliner! I didn’t think that was too tough until I couldn’t get one!

According to the site, some track, very few switches, mostly in euro brass, in rolling stock, 0-4-0, C16, FA’s, Santa Fe heavyweight sets and extra cars, santa fe streamliners are listed (no picture… hmm…), 1 PCC and a couple of eggliners.

So they are not out, but nothing exciting.

Doug your best option is find a whole one on ebay, owning Aristo is getting to be like owning a rare car, you learn to keep it going you need two or three others stored behind the garage to pull parts off of.

That motor block problem has been around awhile. When I "adapted " your trolley I was able to find a Northwest Short Line block that worked fine. I’m not sure they even have those anymore! I’d be scared to death to buy one off Ebay. I think what I would get off Ebay would run worse than the one I have!

Likely, that’s why its on the bay in the first place. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-undecided.gif)

Someone just posted on FB that there garden railroad club was invited by Scott Polk to visit the warehouse and look for parts they may need…
