Oh, he is talking about bringing back the Consolidation. I wonder, is that with the new drive of the one I have that doesn’t work right?
I hope this comes to pass, and that they fix the shortcomings, but I’m waiting until the stuff is actually on the shelves before I get too excited…

Jon, try it on a smart phone or tablet.
Greg
I only have a dumb phone and all my tablets are made of paper (was going to say stone); sorry.
laptop, 8.1 firefox, no problem.
Chome on a PC and the youtube app on a phone and a tablet - no audio.
I probably wouldn’t have believed much of what he had to say, but I’m curious what it is that I don’t believe in.

I don’t know Joe. For me Youtube defaults to 360p, but all resolutions up to 1080 are available and audio i OK. And I tried both Youtube links.
What browser are you guys with no audio complaints running?
Jon,
I’m using XP pro with Firefox 30.0
Joe,
I am using XP pro with either firefox 30.0 or IE8 both play audio.
Mick
Works fine on my Kindle Fire.
Both versions work great with my PC with Chrome and XPPro. Great sound and picture.
As far as the content of the infomercial a) info = rather vague with a lot of “we hope” statements i.e. I believe it when I see it, b) mercial = nothing new on that, just flogging product. As things go “value” depends on the view point i.e. great if you’re the seller and almost as great for the buyer … if he likes tinkering.
I went “hmm” every time the mention of “great engineering” came up, if it is that great they won’t need to fix/improve the many “items” that have been mentioned on LSC, eh!?!
HJ, you are such a cynic.
Hans, I am with you. Each time they mentioned the “great engineering” I chucked. Its so great that my Consolidation is a shelf queen. But she sure is pretty.
Yes Greg, I CAN fix it. I just don’t have the time to fiddle with it right now.

Yeah, I know. OTOH some of my friends see it as a special feature i.e. BS is detected at a very early stage.
Hi David Maynard:
There is one solution that you may find totally nuts. You could hand lay a section of track at a gauge wider than Gauge One just to run this loco.
Do not give up hope. Possibly Scott will produce replacement axles and driver assemblies for folks to repair their locos.
Is there a sufficient number of defective Aristo Craft Consolidation locos for a machinist on this website to offer replacement axles for this loco?
Possibly all of the owners of the Aristo Craft Consolidation could email Scott and ask for a special run of assembled Consolidation axles with drivers. This is a new company so I guess folks will need to purchase these replacement driver axle assemblies.
Scott mentioned that the heavyweights will be produced in the Santa Fe road name. That is positive.
Norman
Norman, Aristo promised replacement drivers that would cure the gauge problem.
They went out of business without fulfilling that promise.
that was when they were being produced and the possibility of parts being improved was actually possible!
Replacement axles would be expensive, and costly, due to the tapered shaft.
Greg
Just a question has he fulfilled his statements that he made at york?
I don’t want to get into a blamefest.
I will only state that I have a long list of broken promises from Aristo executives and I have no axe to grind, but I give little credence to any new promises.
When the product appears, then great. If it does not, then I’m not surprised.
Greg
Greg feel free to use my ‘skeptical cat’ image…like you he is fraught with skepticism.
No, I don’t want to get into a blame fest neither. If Polk’s manufactures the Consolidation, then, hopefully, it will be with the new drives. I am not betting that they will be made with the new drives, IF they even come back into production.
With the shear number of Aristo locomotives out there with these drives, a nice cottage industry could spring up to supply improved drives. Kinda like Barry did with the Bachmann Big Haulers. But that is another IF I am not betting on happening.
Back to the thread. I like hearing that Scott has plans for bringing back into production some of the product. Lets see if he can follow through with those plans. I still wish him luck.
I wouldn’t expect any new product (other than re-paints) or re-engineered product from Scott for at least several years. He is starting on a shoestring and is pretty much a one-man shop. If he is successful marketing reissues to the point he can afford to invest in the engineering then you might see some improved or new product.
