PnP? kits for USAT 4 axle locos

RCS is pleased to announce two PnP kits for most four axle USAT locos are now available.
There are two versions of the kit for battery power only. The pcb’s in the locos are used as is. The kits are installed by simply swapping over plugs and sockets. They can be used by virtually any brand of Radio Control.

  1. BIK-USAv2. This is the basic version and comprises our well known # BIK-U3 kit plus two female cables for the ESC to loco connection.

When installed this kit enables the USAT loco to operate just like it would on track power. The lights and smoke etc are OFF when stationary and come on appropriately when the loco is accelerated in either direction.
Installation involves simply unplugging the JST connectors USAT uses and replaces the track pick up connections with the same JST connectors which are supplied by RCS.

  1. BIK-USAv3. This is the next level and includes the # BIK-U3 kit plus a # RELAY and 3 JST female cables.

Power for the motors is sent direct to the motors via plugs and sockets. This permits the # RELAY to provide constant brightness lighting that follows direction. It is also connected via the supplied cable to the existing USAT pcb.

Shortly, RCS will have another kit available designed for PnP installation using track power with battery back up.

Pictures ----- We need pictures

Pictures of the kit parts and diagrams on how to install them are at the RCS website. That is, the genuine RCS website. :stuck_out_tongue:

I actually did installations like this years ago but didn’t have a digital camera to record them. Lately I haven’t had many USAT locos for battery R/C installations.
Rest assured I will take pics the first one I get to do.

For those of us not well versed in Australian, what is PnP?

Philippine National Police?

Pediatric Nurse Practitioner?

People’s National Party?

Oh, Plug and play…

Plug and play? I was thinking “Picture in Picture”. I guess “Plug and Play” makes more sense. These foreign languages are so confusing.

Thanks Bob. Add that to your resume - successful interpreter.

Another example of the advertising done by AristoCraft for the last, what, 10 - 15 years not getting through to the Hoi Polloi. :stuck_out_tongue:

Bachmann too!!

And here was I, definitely one of the technologically unenlightened polloi, thinking that PNP had something to do with transistors :stuck_out_tongue:
All right, I do know about plug’n’play, except that in my case it’s plug’n’pray … sometimes the prayers are answered favorably; other times …

Not only does the Aussie accent sound different to 'Murrican (it is called Strine) Aussies also spell lotsa words differently too.

Correct me if I’m wrong… but isn’t the Aussie spelling for an alcoholic drink based on hops spelled F-O-S-T-E-R-S?

Personally, I’d prefer ““Black Swan””…

Dunno.

I don’t drink beer.
