Large Scale Central

Please Help me to Confirm Type

These images come from a couple of 1980s postcard which depict a small-scale diesel engine. This train ran at Look Park in Northampton, MA until 1986. To me, this engine looks like an F7A/B with some details missing. Can anyone please either confirm my conclusion or tell me what it actually is? Thank you!

EDIT: Maybe it’s an FT…? Or maybe it’s just a loosely modeled version of some combination of F-series EMDs and I should take the one I have and make it look like this.

Also, any suggestions for modeling the coaches is also more than welcome!!

I found this on the " Memories of Hamp" FB group.

You’re the best, Dan! Thank you!

So are you planning a 7 1/2" (?) gauge train, or a model of one in your garden RR? Or just a scale model of an F3 and coaches?

Lakes Park, in Fort Myers FL, has a similar ride-on railroad which is very popular. https://www.rrmsf.org/train-ride

I am planning to use my HO trains as 1/4 scale of G-gauge so that it all works together haha

Great. There were plenty of ride-on trains in the 7 1/2" to 15" gauge and lots had EMD F3 diesels like the one in your photo.

My pal has lots of N gauge equipment in his attic (including a small layout) so I got him some Peco OO9 track with irregular sleepers (ties). N scale is almost 7.5" gauge in 1/22.5 scale, or 9mm.
In addition to his N scale “1.5” scale" std gauge stuff, there are Bachmann HOe/OO9 trains, including some Thomas small narrow gauge tank engines, “Skarloey” being one of them. That would be a model 2 1/2" scale loco on the 9mm track.

We often have long discussions about making a model railroad inside a model railroad. I’ve seen G scale houses with big Z scale garden railways.
