Large Scale Central

Please help me find a posting

I have searched and searched, and can’t find what I’m looking for. So, I’m looking for some help! A while back, someone posted some railfan photos they took while spending a day with a local train crew doing some switching. One of the photos I remember was a shoving movement, and the switchman was standing in the center of the leading end of the car on the cross over platform.
Any assistance will be appreciated!!

That might be Jon Radder.

Cause its in the ARTICLES section! hehehehe

Yup sounds familiar, and I think Bart has the proper link for you. Was this the picture ?

That’s a gravity switching move, not a shove. But they do the same when shoving. Aha - Here is the shove move…

OH gosh, the ARTICLES section!! Thanks for the help guys! That is exactly what I wanted! If you got caught protecting a shove like that on the UP, you’d be at least written up or more likely fired for a couple weeks! In the second image, he could have actually ridden on the car, peaking around the bulkhead, and been safer and legal.

Who says old guys can’t remember things? But you do have to catch them early in the morning.

Hey! I’m not as old as Rooster!

Rember the old quote- "Don't trust anyone over 30?" Your way over 30.

Rooster is so old, the only thing you could do is boil him for soup. The Colonel even said, “No way”.
