Please Help Identify This Mik's Build?

Several years ago someone entered the Mik’s challenge with a switch tower based on an HO kit-bash. It was a J&P Passenger car set end to end with a wood boxcar. The switch tower came up out of the middle. It was a great build and I have long wanted to do it in 1/20.3 with a full interior… that time has come. Only now I cannot find any info on it.

It was based on a build in HO from one of the hobby magazines.

I have tried searching for this here and on google with no luck. Can’t remember anything to help narrow the search parameters and my connection is to slow to manually search the forums.

I would like pictures of both the Mik entry and the magazine article. Any info on the mag article plus anything else that you guys might know about the building.

Starting with a couple of salvaged Don Winter / Vance Bass kits. Don’t cry. They are in much worse shape than they appear. …Boomer on the other hand is in exactly the shape he appears.

Boomer who ?

Boomer, I did the manual search of the Build Voting Photos and came up empty. They only go back to the 2015 builds, and then better than half of the photos are gone due to Ransombucket and the like. I remember the build you are referring to, but like you can’t remember who or what year.

Good luck, I will keep searching as ideas come to mind.

Boomer, I think this is what you are looking for http://largescalecentral.com/forums/topic/20647/2014-mik-challenge-st-francis-yard-office-and-tower

There are a few pics from Bob’s link Boomer. The builder is John Passaro. Since a number of the pics are missing, maybe contacting him will get you the info you want(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Boomer K, I lost all my freight shed pictures somewhere along the line, don’t know how, but I updated my RR webiste a while back…here’s a good representation of the build log and the final build, if you’re interested. Let me know if you have any questions.

My thanks to all.

I had guessed it was you John but I could not find it searching your posts. Gonna steal some of those ideas for the interior. A great build. I hope I am worthy of your design.
