I just replaced the whole unit. $100

I suggested the same on GSC (UK) .
The hole for the screw must be about 0.25mm diam and not many people have the facilities of drill for it…almost a watchmaking job!!

This may sound crazy but I used a small flexible round rod of styrene to bridge the gap in the cam and secure it to the crank. I used a short length and a miniscule drop of ACC where the screw used to be. It worked great. I have done this twice now on my three truck shay and the repair works well.

This is my biggest complaint about Bachmann. They give you this nice parts list but they do not have the parts. I wanted parts for my long caboose and was told they stock nothing for that model, why list parts they will not sell?

If you can’t find a doner part, I’d break down and buy the whole thing. Then you have one for more repairs when you need it.

For parts, I’d check with Dave Goodson, he has come through with some obscure stuff before.
