Large Scale Central

Piney Creek & Goat Hill Junction Railroad

La Quinta? Only a couple of hours from me. Nice time of the year to be in the desert. Wild flowers should be crazy right now. I heard of a garden railroad display somewhere in Palm Desert at some wildlife park. Haven’t been there yet. I wish you safe travels home on Tuesday.

That's the place. Thanks. I'll need to make a day trip with the family.

Rick Maybe this fall when I come back out I can stop by and see the Railroad first hand. From the pictures it looks great

That would be great Geoff. Just let me know when you’re in town, and thanks for the kind words. It’s kind of a trial and error layout with no real plan. It’s one of those “let’s see how this looks…” So far I’m pleased prettywith it.

Piney Creek needed a new siding for a proposed industrial site. I’m using a Proswitch R3 and some leftover sectional track. I think it adds some needed operational trackage to the loop. The property owner is still in discussion with the zoning commission as to the nature of the proposed site. He’s not sure whether he wants to mine or log. He is also waiting for his shipment of additional rail clamps to complete the addition. The purchasing department fell a little short in their calculations.

looks good, Rick…

nice work Rick

…grinning…

Rick it is looking really good keep it up!

Thanks guys for the kind words. Work on the railroad has hit the brakes for now due to a higher priority bathroom remodel. Always unexpected delays in DIY remodels. Now we need to find 20 year old tiles to patch the existing floor. I long to hear the chuffs and the clickity clacks once more.
