Pictures of the KVRwy Ops (04/28-29)

Dispatcher, Jane Clarke, works RailOps and communicates with the crews out on the line.

Crews work their switchlists or wait until the Consolidated Yard Master (call sign Rubber Duck) prepares their consists.

Other crews are working at “Old State Light” or the branchline to “Cat Dump”

OVGRS/IPP&WRR crew member, Doug Matheson, of Manotick, Ontario, Canada, preps his live steam Shay for a switching run on the line.

Andy Clarke, aka Rubber Duck, aka Consolidated Yard Master, watches as another satisfied crew leaves his domain at Consolidated or he gives them a swift kick if the were not completely satisfied. Either way that crew is on their way, moving to another part of the line. Crew members are Ralph Dipple of the OVGRS/IPP&WRR and Ryan Hilmes of Carlyle, Illinois. Denny Karner looks on admiring “Rubber Ducks” smooth customer service branchline railroad style.

Beautiful weather, great food, good friendship and lots of fun. Thanks to all, especially my wife and friends for a great Ops weekend.

Ric and Jan,

The thanks and a big one needs to go to you. Not many peolple I know will open there home and refrigerator to anyone these days. My family and I had a great time and can not wait till the next time. I had finnaly figured out why my RS 3 kept derailing, it was operator error not MOW crews. After I relieved my engineer for the afternoon before I left I finished off the run in the same spot between Consolidated and Old State light and with slow and steady the whole consist stayed on the track. The key was going slow. just my thoughts after the fact. Sorry for getting the MOW crew to coming out over the weekend.

Thank You

Todd, Rachel and Addie Siddle

Was a great time. Weather couldn’t have been nicer.

It was a wonderful weekend, transiting trains thru Ric & Jan’s yard… Sometime, however, we need to direct some wind thru the consolidated switching area… A slight breeze would be nice… nothing drastic… Hehehehe, it just might make that yardmaster slightly easier to work with…

The Host’s hopitality and food, plus the friends, guests, soon to become friends, etc. made the whole weekend most enjoyable… Many thanks to Ric & Jan…

Rubber Duck signing off…
