Photo posting and storage..

It has been some time since I have posted any photos to here. could someone walk me thru this again please?. I also am looking for a place to store many photos, more than a freight shed will hold. What do you all recommend for a free online storage for sharing pics?. I will be backing up all of them to a second storage of my own. Unlike what happened to most of us with photo bucket, that won’t happen again with my stuff I want to share… Thanks… Travis

Video Embedding

This topic has to be re-mastered every time the site owner makes an upgrade to the software. For this incarnation the procedure is…

  1. Grab the embed code from the YouTube video (directly on the video) right click in OPERA (copy embed code); right click in FireFox (Copy embed code); right click in Chrome (get embed code);right click in IE (get embed code).

  2. In the reply window click on “insert/edit video” button in the top row (looks like a movie frame), and select “Embed”.

  3. Paste the embed code (copied from YouTube) in the box and click “OK”.

That’s what we all found works now. Some day down the road we will have to find a new way for new software, but for now this works. Have fun!

Photo inserting

  1. Start by uploading your photos to a server. You have storage space in the Freight Shed on this web site.
  2. After they are uploaded, click on the file you want to open.
  3. Once it is opened, RIGHT click on the picture and select copy image location. DO NOT use the url in the address bar of your browser.
  4. Next click on the insert photo button in your post and paste the image location in the source line.
  5. Look at the dimensions. You will see them if you click on the first box (height). Make it 800 then click on the second box and it will automatically be correctly scaled.
  6. Then hit OK and your photo will be in your post.

Pinterest is free but it doesn’t work to simply copy link location.

Nope, sure doesn’t.

It does if you copy the correct code for the picture and not the entire page as you did.

practice…

Ok Joe, when I right clicked on the photo after it opened I got a blank copy. If I highlighted the Jpeg info top right by camera Icon it works… Thanks for the help!..

Ok so that being figured out… My freight shed is 10mb. Do I need to remove other folders that have pics in them as I go to add more pics when it is full then correct?..Or can I get more space and how?..

Travis,

You can increase your Freight Shed storage up to 500MB by bringing your membership up to Bronze level or higher. You do that by donating to LSC. When I did that my Freight Shed space went from 10 MB to 500MB.

You can upgrade your membership by going to the “Home” page and clicking on “Donate”. HTH (https://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

It also helps to resize your pictures to 800 pixels wide, so the file size is smaller and you can have more pictures in the same (freight shed) space.

Yep, scaling it’s display size does not reduce the file size as stored…
