Does anyone have a 2k2 Phoenix sound system that they’d like to part with? Send me an email if you do. We have the computer program and the cable. Thanks!
Welcome Bob…
Thanks. Now, somebody tell me how to download pictures and an avatar and signature.
Bob,
Welcome. As far as the photos and avatar, go to the top of the screen and click Wiki. The information is there. It is very easy to post photos over here.
Who’s Don?

Nice build
Dave, the “Don” who built up the tractor on the flat is Don Gage. You must have plucked the picture from our website, Doorhollowshortline.com. If you go back and click on the “About us” page you can learn about the origins of the layout and those of us who are involved. Don’t forget to click on the pictures with the red stars to see video clips.
Dave Crocker built the website and I can’t even figure out how to put pictures into posts on this site. I’m working on it, though.
Welcome, Bob.
If you’re using Window$, this should help with the pictures.
Ralph
If you download from Mac let me know and I’ll find what I wrote. I trained the program to “play nice” and have no problems anymore.
Welcome aboard. This is a great group.
Good morning Bob!
Is there any particular reason it has to be a 2K2 rather than say a Phoenix Sound P8?
Thanks for the link to Bruce’s instructions, Ralph. As I suspected, whatever I clicked on, the response wasn’t what is shown in Bruce’s tutorial. I’m using M7 and Firefox and I use Picassa to size and store pictures that I plan to post on my desktop. Getting them from my desktop to the post seems to be the problem and I don’t see anything to click that does anything.
Paul, I just went into the Phoenix website to read about the P5 and the P8 and it seems that the P8 would do what I want. I’ll talk to my supplier tonight.
Can you get a 2K2 anymore?
I just installed a P8 in my Bachmann K-27. Went in real slick and works great.
Bob, you will be very happy with the P8.
I will alert you to one thing I tripped over while downloading the new P8 sound files. The new P8 files will be stored in a new folder in the DOCUMENTs portion of your computer, not in the PHOENIX PROGRAMs folder where the old sound files are. I assume this was done so sound files that you might be using (or modified) with previous sound boards do not get overwritten.
Despite being a weekend, Jim and John at Phoenix were able to set me straight.
There are a couple of articles on the P8 in the SOUND SECTION of our club web site that have some information you may be able to use.

Bob, Not sure what the problem might be. I just tried it using Firefox and Windows 7. Maybe a “pop up blocker” on your FF ? Everything worked like it’s supposed to. If I get some time I’ll read Bruce’s tutorial and see if anything’s changed. Ralph

Um, the picture needs to be stored somewhere on the internet, the example uses your freight shed.
You need to upload the files to somewhere on the internet, and then reference them. The Internet cannot access your desktop (and you would not want that to happen anyway!).
So, when you were following the tutorial, did you successfully get the files to your “freight shed”?
That’s where we need to start I think.
Greg
Also, name the pics something simple, without spaces, and these things: ( ) & # " ’ , . etc.
The above pic of the cat would be catflat or catflat1, for example.
What picture of a cat?
