I need help with adjusting the p8 board with the software. I would like to adjust the fall of the engine more accurately with the decrease in speed. I am using the p8 and RCS.
Todd - I’ve not played with the P8, but on my 2K2 board I eventually went with magnets and a reed switch for speed sensing. I was never happy with what I could get out of the board by sensing voltage.
Thanks Jon
I know what your saying. I love most of the options, however the deceleration using voltage is what I’d like to get more accurate. I am not a fan of magnet triggering. I got a tip that could help. I was told to try lowering the volume on the engine during deceleration. I 'll give it a try?
Steam or diesel?
Diesel (he stated this on a different site)
Greg
OK.
I too would like to know how to get the P8 diesel rumble to ramp down faster when you decelerate.
Sounds like a question for John Weaver.
Hi Greg, Tony
Tried lowering the volume on deceleration. Didn’t really make much of a difference. It seems like there is a 1 to 1.5 second delay between stopping and the ramp down of the diesel. Tony who is John Weaver?
The tech at Phoenix.
Very helpful gentleman.
Thanks Tony,
Hope to hear about any information. Didn’t have time to call Phoenix. I always get some help from kind folks on this form and others. Hopefully he might post something here??
I always have problems just understanding the terms that Phoenix uses with the software. I’m sure it makes sense to someone, but not me. Trying to get several locomotives to be similar is always a challenge.
