Phoenix P5 load issue

I was upgrading a Phoenix P5 to the most receint software release.

During the load I got an error message during the erase portion of the load and the P5 will no longer connect to the programmer.

My guess is that the boards bios was somehow currupted during the load.

Does anyone know a way to force a bios load to a P5 board.

Thanks

Stan

Ooof - good luck. If all else fails, I found a used P5 when cleaning up yesterday. I could let you have it for a reasonable price.

Dumb question, but did you power down the P5 completely after the fail?

Could your serial connection be bad? Loosing communication to the P5 during the load would cause an error and if the com failure wasn’t resolved, the connection can’t be re-established.

Found a hack that worked

If you have a load issue with a Phoenix board do the following

  1. power off the phoenix board and restart the phoenix programmer.

  2. under the tools menu set the board type to the board you want to reload.

  3. when you power up the board the probrammer will ask for a file to load.

The key is to ensure that the board type matches the board you wish to load.

  1. when done go bask and remove the board type so that the programer can detect the board type for future programming

I to have had issues at times getting them to work as well. have found that sometimes it take several tries to get good communications.
