Mine has nothing in side it. But you could prolly make the roof removable to view a nicely modeled interior. (I’ve done that to a couple PNG’s for batteries. )
I’ve just been talking to Phil - he suggests that I base the interior on the Bachmann cabooses I have already. Seems a plan, since this item is ficitious in any case. I COULD put a nickelodeon inside, or a small ice-skatking rink, even a handy cellar - who’s going to argue?
I recall one modeller a few years back in MR building a caboose - a full-size cabose - then building a fine H0 layout inside it modelled on his own property, complete with an H0-scale caboose with a minute layout inside it…
I’m going to go and lie down now. I might be some time…

If anyone bought that caboose with no intention of building it, I’ll give it a good home.
Tac, keep us posted on the build.
Terry
Well, the local friendish mailman just delivered this caboose-shaped package to my door - looks like it’s a simple matter of putting the trucks on it, slap of paint, and we’re good to go.
Ah, hold on, there’s some rattly stuff inside…
'kay, might take a mite longer than I thunked.
Back in a bit.

tac,
I wrote Phil the other day, he had another one, missing marker lights is all, so have to get those. Got shipped out today. Always wanted one of his kits, MOW caboose should go good with my old wood cars I made years ago and the live steam Accucraft Mogul I just got and my live steam Shay I made years ago.
Jerry - you will not be disappointed, I promise you. So far I’ve put together the sides, floor, ends and cupola, in around an hour.
Stan’s beautiful decals will make it a museum piece.

I have one of these, very nicely done kit. Mine however is being highly modified, hopefully have something to show by the end of this month.

Great progress overnight, folks - I’ll be doing the brake rigging and fiddly bits this afternoon…
I’ll be painting it oxide red-ish plus weathering - lightly - to give it that ‘lived-in’ look.
Having a pain trying to get marker lights, though. Coming from a long line of cheapskates there is no way on earth that I’m paying $15 shipping for a pair of $4.50 lamps from one of our well-known detail suppliers.
Guess they’ll have to wait till we are over in OR later on, but even then it’s a liberty, the cost of shipping a small item these days.
Can’t sit here all day yakkin’ to you guys - must get on…

Is it done yet?
Tac, Let me look in my “lighting” drawer for a set of markers. They won’t be brass Accucraft’s, but I’m sure there is something you could use.
Meanwhile, what other pics do you want?
John - did you send me an email the other day? If so, it was blank, so I trashed it.
Anyhow, those pics just about do the job for me- thanks a lot!
Also I note that you have done the cupola roof differently to Phil and used more grab-irons instead of the rather thin wire that Phil provided. Since I have a ton of grab-irons to spare, and a couple of hundred NBW too, I’ll do the same as you have done. I like the smoke-stack on the cupola roof, too.
Now, has anybody got ANY ideas about the interior?
I’m going to use lolly-sticks from Jo-Anns to ‘panel’ the visible portions of the interior walls, and make the long roof section easy to remove by building in a few strengthening trusses into it. I have already a few bits from an old Bachmann centre-cupola caboose that will fill up the ‘hole’ under the cupola, and I guess that being a working caboose the long end would have workbenches and so on, in addition to the stove and sink…
We’ll see.
Just doing the roof now - I’ll be sending a few pics to Ken with a heartfelt plea for him to post them for me. He’s very kind to an old fart…
Best to all

Your heartfelt plea has be recognized…
And I’m guessing, these are the figures he plans to place inside the caboose…
Must be some better looking figures available somewhere…
Tac, I sent you a pic of the set of markers I found (for your approval).
I will resend it.
That’s a “hot air” vent on the cupola roof. Used to remove various hot air and “vapors”.
Thanks, Ken, again.
And thanks, John. I look forward to seeing what you sent.
And BTW, few critters on the planet produce vapours like a narrow-gauge railroad man, don’t ask me how I know…

PS - in the last pic, in case of confusion, I’m the one wearing the hat. We were watching Reo 2.
That is looking great Tac. It is going to turn out pretty good .
Maybe I should wait until everyone has forgotten about it before I do my kitbash.
Tac,
I WASN"T confused! Btw, you are a dead ringer for my late Dad…seriously!
