Phil's Narrow Gauge temporarily shut down

For those who deal with Phil…

IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR MARCH 24, 2009****

We have sold our house in California. Escrow will close is the next week and we will start a short period of rent back from the new owners for the purpose of tearing down the shop and moving.

To that end, the PNG shops are now CLOSED for an indefinite time period. The building that will be my new shop is a wide open space of 25’ by 40’. I will need to have a contractor assist me in getting walls and partitions to house the various functions in the shop. I do not know how long that will take.

This may sound harsh but I need to stay focused on packing our home and my business. There will be no exceptions.

I am paid up for booths at the Big Train Show in Ontario, CA. The 25th National Garden RR show in Denver, CO and the 29th National Narrow Gauge Convention in Colorado Springs, CO. Attending the BTS in June will be a push as I still have several empty kit totes and several a nearly empty state. I’m hoping to be back in semi “normal” operation by mid summer.

To add insult to injury, I fully expect that all my e-mail contact information will no longer function. I will have my office phone number disconnected as well. All will come back to life in Colorado. I will do my best to keep this site updated as progress is made and a grand re-opening date nears.

I hope it all works out smoothly for you . Good luck .

Been there, done that, didn’t get a T-shirt. I wish him luck!

Hmm, I wonder if Phil knows about the “Californian transplant” tax here in Coloroado. I’ve got connections and can probably get it waived for him, but it’ll cost him some ball bearing journals for the AMS passenger cars.

Seriously, Phil–good luck with the move, and welcome to Colorado. See you at the NGRC.

Later,

K

Having been a very satisfied customer of Phil’s Narrow Gauge, I’m sorry to see him leave California. But hey, what better place to live than Colorado for a narrow gauge fanatic. I hope Phil stays in touch as he makes the move. He had told me once that maybe he would be relocating in Durango. Anyone heard?
