Phil has retired

(More or less) He has no plans to stock any more kits.

Well at least he’s still selling parts, that’s good to know.

Bummer. I never got a chance to build any of his kits - always admired them.

Thank you Phil for what you did put together for us to build. I am still interested in a series 800 Drop Bottom Gon and a 30’ Reefer. I’m working on the Box car I got from you last spring.

Again, thank you.

Good for him!!

Thanks for making great kits! I’m glad i got the chance to get a few of them.

Yep, last time I talked to Phil (sometime in the spring) he told me that he was planning on some kind of retirement and not providing kits any more. I have a few of his, and he’s leaving a hole that will be had to fill.

Congratulations Phil! Enjoy your retirement! You will be missed. A BIG hole in the hobby now.

You provided a very needed service for the hobby. I still have some of Phil’s box car kits to finish. I will miss getting my Accucraft trucks re-bearing’ed. Those trucks are the greatest when he gets them done. Every single piece of NG rolling stock I have, rides on Phil’s ball bearing trucks.

Great kits. I’m sure his kits will start finding their way out of closets and onto eBay at inflated prices pretty soon.

I’m glad I got a kit. You have to get them while you can. With small individual businesses like Phil’s you know they will end someday. Bronson Tate is gone, Hartford is owned by Ozark, not sure what they will make though. I can’t recall the names of any other small train businesses that went down over the years, but I know there were more. When they leave, usually no one steps in to take their place. A loss to the shrinking hobby.
