Personal email

Howdy folks
I’m having connectivity problems at home, so any emails to me may bounce, or may not. If you REALLY need to get ahold of me in the next couple of days, you can use my work email, [email protected], or contact me on AIM at ArrEmCee.

And then there is the tops secret Batphone…

Bart,

I learned recently that people don’t use phones anymore. Which puzzles me since I see half the drivers on the road on the phone while driving, people walking along busily chattering into a phone etc. etc. etc.

Ahh!! But surely they would only be the great unwashed. Not the (so called) intelligentsia that frequents this forum and pontificates from on high about everything eh?

See, I have figured out how to do at least one smiley.

Hi Tony,

Hey, you got the smiley stuff licked!

I’d have to do some interviews to find out which categories the phone users belong to, perhaps I could recommend that the next time our phone provider calls to inquire how satisfied we are with the service. Do a separate survey and find out how “unwashed” the subscribers are. Hmmmmmm that has merit.

Hans -

You are greatly confused.

Modern Man (and woman) only use telephones while unable to use keyboards. These situations include Driving a Car and Eating in a Restaurant without WIFI.

My company has just embarked on a campaign to market housing to college students. My boss is puzzled why the students when filling out info request forms only give a bogus phone number and their email. He doesn’t understand that young folks do not like using the telephone, except to talk to each other while driving.

Jon,

Yes, I’m greatly confused.

But I’ve been like that from birth, things haven’t improved much. I made it through school and apprenticeship in utter confusion, then came military service - more utter confusion.
Then I took a year off busking my way across Northern Europe - no noticeable confusion.

But after that it was right back to usual - confusion.  That’s OK, confusion is relative.

On those young folks; there is great fun in playing tag in a shopping mall using the cell phone with very basic clues as to location. Can you imagine if one day the micro wave system shuts down, for whatever reason?? WOW people would have to communicate face to face! All hell would break loose!
