pedestal?

Accucraft still has their passenger trucks for sale. I just got a pair for a Carter Bros. passenger car project I dug out of my cupboard of long overdue kits-to-build. Some of you may remember the Masterclass Series on MLS many many years ago.

The price from Accucraft for a pair was just under $130.

Doc Watson

You can get them from Phil's Narrow Gauge, complete with ball bearings for $90:  http://www.philsnarrowgauge.com/Parts.html

Great thread. Pete’s picture reminded me of one I took last suummer at the Railroad Museum of New England. This is an active steel coach that appears to have a composite (wood+steel) truck with roller bearings in pedistals!

Kevin,

You are right. My Bad. It’s been so long since I built that car, I’d forgot that I hadn’t switched over to an Accucraft truck yet. I make it a habit of using metal trucks on all my builds. That was an early one that slipped pass me. Thanks for noticeing it.

Hey guys what started out on a question on identification turned intona great thread on reproducing them. Being cheap and a scratch builder I very much like what Kevin did with the bachmann truck. What is the source if these, any particular series of cars such as big hauler or… I will have to keep my eyes open I only need four.

There you go again with your own made up words ( intona ) TWICE no less. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Hey Devon if you’re looking for a pair of Bachmann passenger trucks I’m sure we can dig up a pair from someone in the club at a very reasonalble price.

Joe I will send you a Devonics dictionary. I believe there will soon be a Rosetta Stone CD avaible so one can become fluent in it.

For some reason my spell checker is not working on this site. And I have fat fingers. I should really proof read better.

Chuck,

Is that your polite way of saying that I should show up and introduce myself. Hockey is almost over. That will free up my weekends.

Far be it for me to interfere with Chuck’s attempt at shaming you into showing up at club meetings, but in case he comes up empty, you might try Star Hobbies in Annapolis, MD. I ordered some from him for my Iron Horse Engraving passenger cars last year. It might have been a special deal at the time, but it can’t hurt to call. 410-349-4290

Bachmann lists them on their web site as well, $20 per truck.

Come on now Kevin, I’m not trying to shame Devon into coming to one of our club meetings. I’ve already told him that family always comes first, but after that it would be nice to meet him face to face. He only lives about 5 miles from me. Besides I’ll gladly give up a pair of Bachmann passenger trucks just to see the expression on his face when he finally gets to meet half the guys on this site that belong to our club. LOL

(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-innocent.gif)I look forward to it. I really do. But as I have told Chuck when you have a son that plays hockey and is from the USA you travel and you travel a lot. I am beginning to think I am Canadian. Sadly stand a better chance of meeting Hans first; I will be in his neck of the woods in about a month.

Apologies, Chuck, no offense intended. My tongue was firmly in my cheek. I just now noticed where the smilies are on the new software, or I would have included one. (That, and I’m not one to talk about making club meetings–I haven’t made one in 12 years! I make it to exhibitions once or twice a year, but I work on the nights when the club meets.)

Later,

K

Thats OK Kevin no apologies needed. I always thought you were joking around. Just wanted to have some fun with Devon.
