Passing of Brian Briggs :(

So I just read on my Modern Freight Car List from Yahoo that Brian Briggs recently passed away. I know that Brian posted some really cool 1/29 builds over the years.

Here’s the post.

1a## Sad news - Brian Briggs

Hi All,

I got a note today from Margaret, and after calling her, found out that Brian died from complications during an emergency surgery he underwent to resolve an aneurysm in his abdomen Friday night. Apparently during the surgery he had gone into cardiac arrest, and they fixed that, but when they were closing him up, he suffered another, and didn’t survive.

Brian was a terrific modeler, did a lot of his own stuff in O scale, and a few years after meeting/becomingfriends, his wife converted him to 1/29 scale, where he continued to design and scratch bild amazing models that would easily rival any Tangent model.

Brian drew and printed his own details for his models and G scale because nobody offered what he needed. He had a great library of information and I will really miss being able to discuss the aspects of how to accomplish a model build with him.

My deepest condolences to his wife and family.

Regards,
Brian Everett

Sad… very Sad indeed.

My condolences to his family. Sad news indeed.

My condolences to his family

This man was one heck of a scratchbuilder. I remember a diesel sand tower he did a while back that was just awesome. He was very generous about sharing his methods and took the time to answer all questions fully.

My condolences as well. May God bless his soul and RIP. May his family and friends find peace and comfort.

His work on model trains was fantastic.

This is very sad . I loved seeing his work , a true master builder. His work will be missed . Our prayers for him and his family.

Brian was a “badass” modeler and thank you Craig for informing us on LSC!

Very sorry to hear this. My condolences to his family and friends.

I didn’t know the man but his work was inspiring.

He will be missed

Wow… So sorry to hear that. Brian did some fabulous work. I think items for the DTI were his favorite projects… Great train guy, good customer and great to work with…

Prayer for and condolences to the family…

You just never know when it’s our time…

Brian was a big motivator for me to start tackling my Snow Dozer build. He was a great resource, although I don’t believe he had been doing much modeling in the recent years due to downsizing his house?

Did anyone ever meet him in person, just wondering?

I personally did not Craig.
