I’ve seen a photo of a passenger station within a wye somewhere back East, and I have searched the net for a photo without luck. Anyone point me in the right direction?

The depot in Hamlet, NC. was in a Wye. The RR gave the depot to the town. One of the condititions was that it be moved from the wye.

The former location in the Wye.

I have a post about the Hamlet Depot, but the photo’s fell victim to Bob’s server crash. Ralph
I guess it was pretty common. Near me Canaan Union Station sits inside a wye, and my local Union Station in Danbury is on a balloon track (but not inside) Canann where the track layout is almost identical to Ralph’s picture…

Danbury. Union Station at lower left…
The Reading Company’s Outer Station was also located inside of a wye, but I can’t find any aerial shots of that.
That “Point of Rock” station is really beautiful!
Thanks Ray! I am struggling over an east coast look, or keeping it real and out west.
Are there any stations in the west on a wye? Was it just because we had more room to spread out?

Doug Arnold said:Vancouver, Washington SP&S station was built on a wye. It is still in use by Amtrack. I'm sure that there are others. http://www.trainweb.org/usarail/vancouverWA.htm

Steve, Yep that is a good example. I have a raised “wye” built by Dan at EagleWings that I am probably going to put a suspended floor in the middle of the wye and either place a station or a large interlocking tower in the middle. It is sort of a crummy location, since it is below my deck.
I think Montpelier Jct, VT is in a “wye” if my aging memory serves me correctly.
