Part the Second; Off the dirt

If you don’t talking about it (and if you do please say so), I’m curious about what you said, i.e. you can just block off that blood flow?

Greg

basicly they got three different things:

additional artery walls for the inside of the artery like a bushing.

outside sleeves for the artery, like ducttaping a hose.

and for thick/clogged blood two or more types of filters to be inserted into the artery.

(the latter sometimes cause intensive bodysearches at airports…)

Fortunately; none of the above.

Apply to me.

The external clip or internal coils were my possibilities.

We will all keep our fingers crossed for you John, keep us apprised. Dunno if you are religious, but I am and will pray.

Greg

Thanks Greg, I’m Spiritual now though my Daddy was a Minister/ Navy Chaplain. I removed any human input and go with an identity I can appreciate.

Friday I get an automated phone call Dr. X has ordered a nuclear test for you … after struggling through 3 automated bot calls I reach a human!

“I have found your work order, when in June do you want to schedule your follow up scan?”

“June? Oh no! I have a major surgery scheduled for the 9th of January and I need schedule those tests …”

“Oh that person is on vacation until Jan 2.”

I imploded.

Unbelievable… actually believable… I could tell you stories just from this year… the hospital is about an hour away, they schedule 2 things for my wife, one at 7:30 and one 10:30 so she has to stay there for the second one… then at 10:30 they announce moved to noon, etc.

You just got to read them the riot act sometimes… and why they don’t see customer service like any other business? They ARE getting good $$ for this work.

Greg

John,

I’ve no idea what it’s like to go through all this, but I’ve been following along with each post, and praying for you along the way.

Cliff

Hi Cliff,

Since I beat the first one and this new cancer is a different type AND since my bro in law, a cancer expert in his own field, has been tossing the c word my way. I have been surprisingly calm. I’m able to look forward to the operation because radiation burned tissue won’t be flooding me with mucus, it goes bye bye.

However my days of running track are over, boo hoo.

I was warned by my cutter that setting up my tests would be rushed, but they’d get done. My operation was fit in to his schedule with a shoehorn ASAP. 2 big holidays in a row doesn’t help.

I do have an imperfect coping mechanism; my anxiety goes off at 3 am, when nothing can be done. By 5 I’m in deep sleep again.

Keep us up to date John. Maybe you can’t run track, but you can always run trains… Take care!

John…

“Running track…” Just to clarify… like that guy Bruce Jenner? Well, not guy anymore… but you know, that whole wheaties thing. So you’re giving that up, huh? Well, if it makes you feel any better, I did too. Right after high school graduation and that mandatory gym class.

But ya got a lot of track to run on your layout still, so I’m expecting to see some nice progress “off the dirt” this year!

===>Cliffy

I was being facetious, I started at 3rd base and as a center in high skool football. I was quick, not fast. To give the other guys a chance I started smoking at 16(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-yell.gif).

Jim has the right idea; let’s run trains!(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)

Somebody is going to hold me to a backside view of square sets in the hole…(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif) I just know it…

Jan 2 we got snow, we don’t do … snow.

Well they don’t.

I call, I can schedule the follow up scan, but for those tests, that scheduler didn’t show up…

Doctors don’t plan the day, Anesthesia does that, this morning I get the call with their instructions for the operation.

I ask about the tests and I sense a blank stare on the other end, I suggest the snow affected things and I kick start the ball rolling (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-smile.gif), she calls back to say that stress test will be scheduled for after the surgery! I said NO it’s to see if I can have the Operation! Oh! Finally my cutter’s nurse calls, even better, the next call schedules me for tomorrow morning!

Ah finally that anxiety is down to manageable levels. Yippee!

Maybe now I can pass their stress test, I just passed this one…

Hang in there buddy!

Thanks for the update John, wow…

Look on the bright side, John … you have an extra day to study for the test (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif). I hope everything goes well. You are in our prayers. Good Luck!!!

John, can’t help it…

Always rootin’ for you, Dude! And prayin’.

Yer pal,

Cliffy

Did the PFD (lung function)today and about 3pm today they found another health system where I can take the stress test, as if all this finagling wasn’t stressful enough!

Tuesday 8 am stress test, Wednesday the cutter does his stuff.

I can’t wait to concentrate on Trains again.

Best of luck John! Hope it is both successful and not painful/uncomfortable…

Good Luck my friend. I’m thinking of you! (https://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
