Yes, food comes from animals. It is deer season around here, carcuses every where. Good eating the rest of the year.
Did you not know that Brian? Did you think that they just magically appeared in the supermarket at this time of year?
No they do not magically appear…but most people prefer NOT to see their food have it’s throat slit. Not right or wrong, just the way it is. Danged funny if you ask me.
Maybe if she wants to work on her political personna she can do a PR spot on Easter Seals this spring, complete with baby seals being clubbed in the background.
Reading the title of the thread I thought she was forgiving all those Republicans who worked so hard for her!

I thought it was funny, also. Love to hear all the “Greenies” complaining because there little “tofu kids” had to learn another fact of life.
I dont get where the main topic is that turkey comes from farms most of us know that, what nobody is going to talk about is the perception that public pulls from this, and that public is fickle…
The fact that she was there to “pardon” IOWs save the life of the Offical Turkey coupled then with the fact that she chose the exact spot where they slaughter the birds showing a rather hypocritcal scenario, saving one purely for the photo op while others are being killed in plain view the background and you stand there flapping your jaw like some clueless callous moron, really says alot about a lack of just how the public percieves politicians, for you guys who think this is “no big deal” just remember the fate of Democrat Howard Dean, who’s campaign was derailed by one Rodan size bird screech…Sarah’s act, now dubbed Sarah the Birdkiller, isnt that much different…the perceived hypocrasy of this could haunt her for years. Especially with young voters.
C’mon, Vic, she didn’t choose that spot, the cameraman chose it for her.

So, you thought it was funny that PMSNBC DNC TV set out to purposely embarrass Gov. Palin? My, what a gentleman you are.
Actually Steve, at the end of the report the crew asked her if the spot was OK she said there was no problem with it, so she was given the option, apparently she missed all that blood on devices and on the ground. A seasoned polititian, or anyone remotely aware of how sensitive some groups can be when it comes to perceptions of “animal cruelty” or how the PC crowd could react with revilement this video, would have realized having live birds garroted in the background is not the best choice when talking about the tradition of “pardoning” the Turkey day bird …sorry to say, she just don’t get it And thats going to be her biggest problem trying to connect with the new younger vote that was mostly responsible for electing Obama. I watched this and thought, My goodnes, even Tina Fey and SNL would never have come up with something this surreally funny.
Victor,
You said - “when it comes to perceptions of “animal cruelty” or how the PC crowd could react with revilement this video,”
Actually I took it that she is saying that she doesn’t care what the PC Crowd thinks. I certainly don’t and applaude her for shoving the idea of life in people’s faces. Tina Fey would probably loose lunch in the rehearsal.

No kiddin’ Brian. I bet she can do that with both feet in her mouth, too!
My, my, the usual suspects acting as usual.
If I were to attack “The One” like this, y’all would be all over me like stink on shot. I’m just pointing out your double standard.

Why in God’s name did McCain pick her? I will never understand it. So many good choices…

I believe you are right, she does not care what the PC crowd thinks, nor do I for that matter. Problem is the Republican party has been “shoving a lot of stuff in our faces” and the electorate got tired of it. As a politician she needs to consider the thoughts of others or she is going to lose another one. That to me is the most interesting point, she really doesn’t care. Kinda hard to bring the country together when you don’t care about the opinions of others. Why in God’s name did McCain pick her? I will never understand it. So many good choices…
