Painting Accucraft coach seats - grrrr

I spent an hour yesterday morning painting the arms on those nice seats that Accucraft put in their coaches. They look so much better if you pick out the metal arms and legs, but they are such a pain - you have to go over, around, inside and under every side of every seat.

And this coach (EBT #12) is extra long, so there are more seats!!

Here’s how it looked this morning as I started to figure out whether I had any passengers. The loco engineer with the thick glasses got a broken arm and reduced-size spectacles. The cowboy lost his hat brim. I since found a Bachmann seated guy (all my coaches seem to have one) so that gent got a black jacket and a reduced moustache. The girl is just along for the ride.

I agree they look much better. I also paint the inside walls a nice brown (especially on the yellow coaches) as I find the Accucraft/AMS paint is quite thin allowing shadows to project through the walls when lit from behind!

Lit from behind? How bright are your coach lights ??

I’ll be painting the inside of the walls with brown acrylic once the outside is painted. At the moment, the windows are out and will have to re-installed before I do any more with the inside.

I have to ask, where’d you find her?? She needs a ride…
I mean I want to get one too.

You broke Ward’s arm

lol

There is a cutey like her in every one of my coaches. A few years ago, someone found a set of 1:20th scale ‘figures’ (and what figures!) from the Xtreme sports video game. He thought his wife would object, but she was cool as long as he put period costumes on them.

I elected to just put them inconspicuously in my coaches. This is EBT #3 - and btw - they are all clothed. The young lady in EBT #16 has a bikini with “Lowes” written on the front! In the bathroom of my #20 business car is a lady doing her makeup in the mirror.

Search for “Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball figures” and you’ll find the pictures.

LOL! It’s surprising how little light you need to shine through the D&RGW yellow.

I used a “Marks-a-Lot” marker to ‘paint’ my arm rests…Went a whole lot faster than using a brush.
