Paint suggestions for LGB/Pola buildings?

I have around 18 LGB/Pola buildings that came from my old layout that was dismantled 5-years ago. I am planning on fixing them back up and hopefully will be able to get them outside sometime this year once my new railroad gets started.

My old layout (and my new one) was in direct sunlight all day, not even a single tree leaf of shade. Needless to say all of the buildings have faded pretty badly and don’t look anything like they used to.

I want to paint them…most likely with small model paint brushes as I think this may be easiest for me, don’t think I have the patience level for masking things off and spraying them.

So if this is what I decide to do what paint should I be looking for?

I don’t want to buy a gallon of every color I need as most of it will just be a waste.

Will I be buying just ordinary exterior house paint? or do you guys use something I don’t know about…and I don’t know that much so throw whatever your ideas are at me!

Thanks,

Vinny

Exterior house paint is probably the way to go, after the required cleaning and a spritz of primer.

You can find small samples of the paint at the big box stores that are meant for trying things out on your 1:1 house, but are more than adequate for our needs. There are 4 - 6 oz of paint in each can. They run about 4-6 bucks each.

Yeah, what Steve said.
