PA Coal Mines, A brand new photo essay

Just a collection of borrowed pix, but maybe some of you will find them useful

Nice collection. I recognized a few of those.

Mik,

Nice pics. Wasn’t PA mostly anthracite coal?

Bob C.

East of the mountains was anthracite, west bituminous.

I added about a dozen more pics. Now there are pics from Washington, Allegheny, Westmoreland, Indiana, Jefferson, Cambria, and Elk Counties

Nice collection.
Thanks for your effort.

A few folks said it took too long to load. So I split it in two. The above listed page has just mine stuff, and page two http://www.the-ashpit.com/mik/pamines2.html has coke ovens and company towns
