Overhead On30

Ok so this may need to be in the On30 forum…but though it may get more views here…? I have a real desire (wife does not) to put a train in the boys room…I don’t see how I could make “G” work, so I considered On30…here is a crappy Paint drawing I did earlier of the space

the entrance door is the 42" opening…it’d have to be a point to point…trolley or something… any suggestions? thanks cale

Don’t go look at this forum

I warned you

First step, ya REALLY gotta suck up to the CFO. If she ain happy, ain NOBODY gonna be happy

I had a room similar to that in my mobile home a while back. I built a small switching layout with 0n30 on the right and top wall (the 7’3" and 74" sides). It was about 4’ 8" above the floor. Course I don’t think that’s what you’re looking for. You don’t show any windows or closet doors, but you may be able to get it high enough to clear those and make it an oval traversing the entire room.

It was similar to this http://www.geocities.com/RodeoDrive/4497/0n30lyt.html but on a L shape.

And if all else fails, follow Miks advice…

There are windows on the longest wall…closet in the middle, entry on the 42" wall…I just want something 1 or 2 lines…prob only one to prevent it from being toooo obtrusive, running a trolley or small switcher with a few cars…point to point…the way the roof leans into the room, a loop really wouldn’t work…with some type of station stop device and boomerang effect if you will…in other words…SIMPLE as I can get it…1 touch button to turn on or off…thats all they really need up there

You want a suggestion, do you? FOLLOW MIK’S ADVICE!!!
