Outstanding Service from Ridge Road Station

Hi fellows,

Last month I reported that UPS had quoted US$600 to ship an Aristocraft Live Steam Loco from USA to Btisbane Australia, and I rherefor had to cancel my order with Ridge Road Station (RRS). I was dissapointed at not being able to take advantage of RRS’s generous discount offer of US$849 for this loco.

The main problem was that the factory boxing of the loco and tender with accessories was above the size limit set by US Mail Service - so UPS or Fedex was the only alternative. I asked RRS if it was possible to split the goods into 2 parcels (I did not need the box), and see if it was any cheaper to ship via US Mail. The quote came back…US$160!

I reinstated my order immediately and asked RRS to repack.

The bottom line is that RRS repacked (superbly) into 2 boxes and shipped the goods within a day of being advised of my acceptance. The goods arrived in perfect condition 10 days later. RRS did not charge me any extra fee for the handling that they had to do…

Thank you RRS, you have won me over, and I hope a lot of fellow Aussies. That extra yard in SERVICE makes all the difference to your customers.

They get a lot of my business. Never any problems. We visited the store one day when they had opened specially for a bus tour on a normally closed day. We arrived just as the bus patrons were cashing out. The store crew let us stay and browse for at least a half hour. It was pretty interesting to be alone in their huge store. Felt like a rock star

I always go to them first. You are absolutely right their service is terrific.

Here Here!..2nd only to Goodson!

As always, I have never had a bad experience from Ridge Road Station and they will go the distance to satisfy the customer.

Hey ! Their prices are usually very good too. Number one in my opinion over all.

Yes, they are quite helpful. In one recent case I faced an over $500 shipping for an Accucraft C-19… But I figured out that by cutting off the top part of the box and using thinner foam for protection, the box would fit within USPS max size. RRS did that for me without any problem and any extra charge, the saving was almost half of the shipping cost. But, they sent the wrong version of the locomotive… well, the extra excitement of cutting the box may have contributed to making the mistake. So I chose to order another one, on an at cost basis.
