That looks like one of the lounge cars, not a ‘vista dome’. They are used (sometimes) in the Autotrain.
East Broad Top has one, and I hesitate to call it ‘restored’ as it seldom got used while the RR was running, and never since it stopped!
The scales at Robertsdale were used to weigh every loaded car heading north, so the scales had to be calibrated, using the scale car. I don’t know how often they did it.

Now that I think of it, yeah, that’s what they called that car.
I worked in a sawmill that had a Pettibone fork lift in the mid 70s. I used it a few times when the regular operator was not around, when we needed RR ties and lumber packs moved.
