Here is a good one on ebay. LGB Thunder Mt Disney set over $4000 for it. Ouch

Well at least there’s free shipping!
That had to be a typo, I sure hope someone isnt nuts enough to think someone would actually PAY that for a not so rare set.

Offers, or bids? If its bids and some bidders got onto a bidding war then the seller will get a second christmas. That of course is if the buyer actually pays up that insane sum. Betcha that the buyer welches and the seller doesn’t get that sum.
If its offers that just means eight people made him a best price they were willing to pay, probably way way under that $4k price. If the item does not sell at the asking price its up to the seller to decide if he will accept the “best offer” price or to relist it again. Its kinda like the “second chance” offer on ebay.
Victor it did not sell and it has been relisted .
Mike
No typo, relisted at the same price. Seller descibes himself as a seller of “Disneyana Collectables” and is based in Kissimmee.
He believes this is what the item is worth and someone will probably buy it, sooner or later
Ralph
I saw that listing a few days ago and could hardly believe it. I sold a VERY lightly used one of these sets 4-5 years ago for $225 I believe, and that was to cover my postage costs up to here from Texas, so I probably got it for around $175-200. I wonder just what somebody would think reasonable for it today… Blows your mind sometimes, don’t it just?
Holy moly this guy is seriously dillusional then. Either that or his wife forced him to clear out some of his Disney crap and put it on Ebay to sell, “but honey, I put it on Ebay and no one would bid on it!”
I can relate to that, Victor!

That’s kind of an interesting ebay trick, ask some astronomically stupid price in the hope someone will offer you more than a market price, then you take the offer. Sort of like attempting to set your own market price ($4000) within your own listing. Wow!
I don’t think I want to do business that way myself, but to each his own I guess.

Or… Honey this is really a great deal, I’v got to buy this, it’s really worth $4000. And now he’s trying to prove it…
