We caught a snapper once, we did eat it also, very, very good meat, it was crossing the road at our cottage in the U.P. of Michigan, cut the head off, let it hang for 3 days to drain, the mouth kept opening and closing for 3 days, drove our dog nuts for 3 days, so funny.
Best meat I ever ate.

One of the best times I had in my younger days was a visit to Copper Harbor. Cold beer, hot saunas and the smelt were running.
Which meant we had more beer money as we didn’t need to buy food

Ahhhh, smelt fishing, sooo much fun, up there whole towns showed up to eat and party, problem was you had to clean all the fish before you could eat them, and you caught lots of them.
